Every music maker knows there’s no better feeling than creating music and capturing it with the innovative tools found in today’s modern recording studio. Whether that creative process happens in an L.A.-based state-of-the-art multi-room recording complex or the spare bedroom of a Brooklyn apartment, there’s nothing like operating a facility that entices artists to record what could be the next big Spotify or Grammy hit. But every studio owner’s idea of what of a successful money-making recording enterprise looks like tends to vary greatly, both in the technology employed and the amount of money a studio owner is willing (or able) to invest. And, unfortunately, not enough money invested or even too much money invested can lead to the inevitable failure of even the most sought-after studio.

Come join music industry CPA Alan Friedman as he moderates a vibrant discussion in an esteemed panel of the most renowned and experienced recording studio operators of the past 50 years. You’ll learn the do’s and don’ts of running a successful recording studio, and you’ll get a glimpse into what the future holds for most recording studios, large and small.

The panel: Zoe Thrall (The Hideout Recording Studios, Las Vegas), Fab Dupont (Flux Studios NYC, New York), Lee Bench (SteakHouse Studios, Los Angeles), David Bendeth (formerly owned and ran House of Loud, N.J., and head of A&R for RCA Records), Paula Salvatore (former vice president of Capitol Studios and Sound City studio manager), and uber-popular YouTube music educator Rick Beato (Rick’s Music Production Ltd, Atlanta).
